HTC this week announced the launch of their (official) Australian Facebook site.

To celebrate te launch of the new HTC Australia page and the launch of the new HTC Wildfire device, HTC are giving you the chance to win...

"To help celebrate the launch of the HTC Wildfire, the phone that brings all your friends to you, we’re offering one lucky person the opportunity to bring all of their friends together for a day to have their very own ultimate friends experience. To enter the competition tell us in 100 words or less what you would do if you could get all of your friends together for a day and we could make it really happen. » New Kindle 3 'everything the iPad isn't'

Sep 03, 2010 - 8:51 PM - by Wormy
Read this article | Discuss this article

Kindle me this, Kindle me that... but which eReader is the best? I don't have a Kindle and I don't have an iPad... yet... but I have to admit that I do like the whole eReader concept. Though at the same time, I do like the feel of a novel in my hands...

No paper, 'unlimited' media with you where ever you go, zoom functionality, one could argue the environmental benefits, compact, 3G, Wi-Fi, and more...

"EARLY reviews for the new Kindle 3 are calling the e-reader "everything the iPad will never be".

Amazon's new device was this week shipped out to North American and UK customers who had been among the first to order the device.

Amazon has been offering its Kindle devices since 2007 and has managed to hold onto a large portion of the e-reader market despite increasing competition.

On the day it began shipping the newest devices, Amazon announced that the Kindle 3 was its fastest-selling device yet - a feat likely due in part to a rise in digital reading driven mainly by the Kindle itself.

The third-generation Kindle is smaller,

» OtterBox Defender Series Cases for iPhone 4 Revealed

Sep 03, 2010 - 6:16 PM - by Wormy
Read this article | Discuss this article

Looks like OtterBox have been quietly working on expanding their successful 'Defender Series' of cases to include the new iPhone4...

Not only does the Defender Series offer one of the best forms of protection (for devices) on the market, but the Defender Series for the iPhone4 comes with an extra benefit...

"The black OtterBox Defender Series case for the Apple iPhone 4 has been officially NAC tested to address the loss in signal strength. Test results indicate this case solves the antenna issue by acting as a dielectric between the two antennas of the device. No loss of signal strength occurs when using the iPhone 4 in a Defender Series case."

That has to be good news to those that have suffered at the fate of the 'antenna buglet'.

"We set the bar high for quality and durability,” OtterBox founder and CEO Curt Richardson said. “Extensive research and testing is done to ensure our cases are precision-fit and... [Read More]

» Windows Phone 7 - Released To Manufacturing

Sep 02, 2010 - 9:14 PM - by Wormy

According to the official Windows Phone Blog, Windows Phone 7 has been released to manufacturers.

This means that hardware manufacturers now have their hands on the 'final' release of Windows Phone 7 which they can load onto devices for final testing.

"Today is the day that the Windows Phone team has been driving towards, and we’re very excited to say that we’ve reached the biggest milestone for our internal team – the release to manufacturing (RTM) of Windows Phone 7! While the final integration of Windows Phone 7 with our partners’ hardware, software, and networks is underway, the work of our internal engineering team is largely complete.

Windows Phone 7 is the most thoroughly tested mobile platform Microsoft has ever released. We had nearly ten thousand devices running automated tests daily, over a half million hours of active self-hosting use, over three and a half million hours of stress test passes, and eight and a half million hours of fully automated test passes. We’ve had thousands of independent software vendors and early adopters testing our software and

» Is the HTC HD2 'timeless'?

Aug 15, 2010 - 6:46 PM - by Wormy
Read this article | Discuss this article

In my weekly 'walk accross the web', I came accross this article over at WMPowerusers - which really encapsulates the essence of the HTC HD2...

Is this the last HTC stand before the arrival of the WP7 juggernaut?

Will you stick with WM6.5.5 and the 'timeless' HD2, or run the gauntlet and go for WP7?

"When released, the HTC HD2 was a device of the ages. This new technology had something no other phone had, and come to my surprise, that statement still stands true for the most part with today’s new hardware. I have been trying to replace my HD2 with a more modern and newly released device, now you ask why? Well apparently I might have listened to a bit too much music and now my HD2’s 3.5mm headphone jack does not work properly. Now back to the story. I looked at all the new devices from Android to Android (no new Windows Phone device coming out anytime soon, Only WP7). I looked at the Samsung Vibrant for T-mobile and figured out while its new, it still pretty much mimics the HD2 but does not bring along the... [Read More]
