Sync without Wifi?
Hi how do I sync to the iphone with out wi fi.
is it possable to import the .csv some other way?
I have a data base in the desk top I wouls like to start with. I was a user back in my windows days and want to get the app in action again.

Unfortunately iPhone OS does not allow to implement synchronization via USB port or BT. BT communications possible between devices only. Because of the strict Apple requirements we can only use the documented system APIs. So even if we try to hack the system to implement sync via BT or USB, we won't be able to sell such app as it will be rejected by Apple.
Currently only WiFi sync can be supported. If, in the future versions of iPhone OS, Apple will add APIs that would allow us to implement USB or BT sync, we'll defiantly do it.

I have a follow up question. Will Sync always be manual? It would be nice if Phatnotes would sync automatically right when a connection is made through wifi.

Probably not, because of the security concerns. But we will add a sync button to PhatNotes UI on the desktop.

Like the other posters above, I also would like a non-wifi based sync method, like usb, for times when no wifi is available, or when the bonjour server isn't cooperating b/c I find bonjour a little buggy & unreliable. Automatic sync would also be much better than manual, like winmo version, but I realize all of this is apple's and not your fault why you can't do it.
But on the desktop we have the file PhatNotes.wnt , this is the notes database, right? Does Phatnotes sync copy this file over to the iPhone, or is it more complicated than that? Basically, what I wonder is, if we know where the Phatnotes app is on the phone, in root/private/var/mobile/Applications/<app id> , and if we have a way of our choice to copy PhatNotes.wnt to that location on iPhone, will that put the current notes database from desktop onto the phone in a usable way? Do we also need Phatnotes.config.xml ? Or will all of this just make a mess?

the data on iPhone is completely different and copying any files from the desktop will have no effect except for using storage space on the device. Besides, synchronization it much more complex than copying files as it compares data on device and desktop and assures that nothing is lost.

I'm having a problem now where everytime I sync I get a "this is the first time you're syncing message". Please help.

An interesting future synchronization option, which many applications are doing in lieu of WiFi synchronization, is to synchronize through an online intermediary such as Google Docs, DropBox or other secure file transfer location. The format of the file(s) on the intermediate storage can be such that changes are easily detectable by both synchronization points and transferred accordingly.
Seriously. All the Cool Kids are doing it! (See also, DocsToGo)

Really, the apartment complex where I live does funky things to the Wifi and direct connections to other computers are forbidden (even with Bonjour). While PhatNotes desktop is fine for synchronizing with Outlook notes the iPhone app, as I have discovered after purchasing the damned thing, is completely useless to me since I wish to continue using my legacy databases.
Useless. Five bucks wasted.

Is there a way you could add dropbox, or box.net or skydrive syncing?
My syncing keeps getting messed with lately, and I am looking for a more reliable method.
