Any possibility of an eraser tool ?
I purchased PhatPad for the iPad from the Apple app store a few days ago, and I'm really happy with it.
The handwriting recognition works extremely well, and seems to be getting more accurate as I am using it.
The one thing that would make this app perfect though, would be the addition of an eraser tool.
especially when writing full screen, I am finding it awkward and time consuming to select individual pen strokes to delete them.
The undo function works well too, as long as I spot a mistake before I've entered more characters.
Before switching to PhatPad, I was using the MyScript Memo app.
I have to say that for my uses, PhatPad beats MyScript hands down in everything I've thrown at it !
The only thing I do find myself missing from the other app is the eraser tool, which works very well for that app.
It is very quick and easy to simply erase errant strokes or poorly formed letters before recognition.
I've already rated PhatPad with 5 stars in the app store, but the addition of an eraser tool would easily boost this to 6 stars !
Keep up the great work on an amazing program !

are you aware of erase gesture? If not, see documentation, if yes and you do not like it and still want the eraser tool it can be added (we do have it in windows version of PhatPad), but it will require another button since there is no iPad pen when the eraser button.

Thanks for the reply,
Yes the erase gesture is very slick, and works well for deleting whole words or a series of letters.
But I find that most times, after entering a long string of handwriting in full screen mode I spot some characters that I know will be mis-interpeted by the text recognition.
In the other app I used to use (MyScript Memo), it was very quick and easy to select the eraser tool and quickly take the curve off the top of "t"s that I know will be recognized as "f"s, or correct a malformed "c" that I'm sure will be recognized as an "e" etc...
It was much quicker and easier than deleting entire words and re-writing them, as I am doing now with the erase gesture.
The erase gesture is really nice, but doesn't seem to be practical for deleting characters in the middle of a word, and I find that selecting individual characters (in the middle of a word or sentence) may take multiple selections to delete all the strokes associated with that individual character.
Don't get me wrong, Your app is still the quickest and easiest method of text entry I've found so far, but I think the ability to edit with an erase tool before running recognition would really speed up text entry immensley.
Thanks again, and keep up the great work on such a really great app.

Thank You !
I just downloaded ver. 2.2 and saw the eraser tool there !
It seems to work very well so far.
I did however have one small problem after updating from ver. 2.1.
The program would crash right after the PhatPad splash screen, however deleting the program and re-downloading it from the App store solved the problem.
Thanks again, I can't wait to give the eraser tool a good workout now.
