Default Any one answer me this question?

OK I don't know if it's just because I'm new to the pocket PC 2002 but how the heck do I compleatly close a program? Like the program switcher will compleatly close out a program but should not the X in the corner do that? but when I look in the programs running the is like 7 of them. Is there any way like holding a buton close a program down compleatly?

Install SPB Pocket Plus. They have an advanced closed button (ie. pressing X actually do close the program)

    Hey... welcome to the board!

If that's the kind of functionality you are after, you should be running WisBar which you can download for free here

It is a brilliant task mananger which offers a heap of other goodies like battery and memory icons on the start bar etc.

Once you have it, if you get stuck just 'hoy' and we'll help you get up and running with it

    Caspan,

There are a few answers to this. Firstly, this is PPC's default behaviour. When you "close" a program, it remains in memory. The OS manages memory so that if you open too many programs, it will close the ones you haven't used recently; somewhat like the way Windows manages virtual memory on a PC.

If you want to completely close a program, you can do it by going to Start | Settings | System | Memory | Running Programs. Tap the program you want to close, then tap the Stop button.

There are apps you can use that give you a "real" close button. The latest version of Program Bar, which is part of Battery Pack 2003 (http://www.omegaone.com/PocketPC/BatteryPack.html) gives you a close button you can tap and hold to really close an app.

WIS Bar (http://www.walkers.ne.jp/) is a very useful app that sits in the title bar and gives you, among many other things, a real close button.

Icbar (http://icbar.ictinus.com/) is based on WIS Bar and performs many of the same functions, with a few more options. Both are good.</P>

Thank you for all the replies. I will try to install some of these programs to see how they work.
